If you haven't heard the buzz about The Secret DVD, then you must not tune in to your local TV stations. Oprah even made a big toodoo about it recently. But I imagine all witches understand this secret - the Law of Attraction - though it has been described in a slightly different fashion. If you want something to enter your life, you do a spell to bring it to you; and most of what a spell is can be simplified down to envisioning what you want - the power of positive thinking. Of course there are herbs, chants, elementals, and Gods and Goddesses that can help you bring about your desires, should you decide to use them.
What fascinated me about this DVD is that they took this Law of Attraction, boxed it up in fancy wrappings, and presented it to the average Jane and Joe. Look at this amazing Secret and what it can do for you! But the backlash this DVD, and book, have received comes from the same sort of people who will not believe in magic or spells of any kind. While I am not a person who performs many rituals, I do quite a few simple spells that have worked time and again. Non-believers chuck it up to coincidences, but there have been far too many coincidences where a myriad of events had to fall into just the right spot for my desired outcome for me to believe in coincidences. I wanted it to happen, I sent my will out into the universe via a spell, and I was granted my wish.
To people like Oprah who are just so hyped up about this, I want to say, us witches have known about this for centuries - it's no secret.
